When the school day is over, we offer fun recreational video games for our interested students.

1. Minecraft Server

We have one Minecraft Servers available for playing on, and support a “rolling release” model of upgrades when new versions of Minecraft come out. A second server will be available shortly.

Minecraft UpdateVersionPlay styleAvailability
Wild Update1.19 / E4PeacefulNow
Caves and Cliffs – Part Two1.18.1 / E3PeacefulNo longer available
Caves and Cliffs – Part One1.17.1 / E2Violent, peaceful before 1.18 releaseNo longer available
Nether Update1.16.5 / E1HybridNo longer available

Every time a new Minecraft version is released (like 1.18 will be shortly), a new peaceful world is created, and the previous-version world becomes violent. Thus, when 1.19 comes out, a new peaceful 1.19 world will be created, the 1.18 world will become violent, and the 1.17 world will shut down. When 1.20 comes out, a new peaceful 1.20 world will be created, the 1.19 world will become violent, and the 1.18 world will be shut down.

This ensures that peaceful and violent players are satisfied to the best of our availability. The rules are simple:

  • Peaceful World: Respect other creations, No “griefing”, Build wherever you want that isn’t taken, don’t steal, no wars, don’t kill, so forth.
  • Violent World: No respect for other creations necessary, “griefing” permitted, build wherever you want, steal if you wish, kill if you wish, declare war if you wish, so forth.
  • Both worlds at all times: Apply Café rules for acceptable behavior (no bullying even in the violent world, no crude language, and so on).

You can join by putting your username on the Minecraft Server Whitelist on the Cafe or emailing [email protected] if you are not on the Cafe. You can download discontinued worlds on the Downloads page.

We support both Java and Bedrock clients. You can connect from Windows 10/11 Editions, Java Edition for Windows, Java Edition for Mac, Java Edition for Linux, Android, Fire OS, iOS, and iPadOS. You can, with some workarounds, connect from modern Bedrock Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch editions.

Note that previous-edition worlds support modern clients connecting. For example, the violent 1.17 world will support 1.18 clients connecting to it, even though it will lack 1.18 features. You do not need to keep two Minecraft installs to connect to both.

2. Among Us Nights

On Friday nights, engage in a battle of wits against your fellow Homeschool Connections students in the whodunnit game of our generation, Among Us.

How do I join?

Have your parents contact us at [email protected], and preferably, join the Student Café. The Café is basically our new social network for students, though you don’t have to be a member of the Café to participate in the Minecraft Server or Among Us nights (though we’d love to have you there!)
